It is likely to be priced above $20,000.Honda is working hard to improve their fuel efficiency to make them value for money purchases for the end customers.

The CR-Z (which stands for "CompactRenaissance Zero"), introduced at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show, uses a new twist: a gas-electric hybrid powertrain. The major advantage of gas-electric hybrid powertrain is that it improves fuel efficiency and lowers emissions which makes HONDA CR-Z a true "green" sports car.

2010 Toyota Prius-The Hybrid car-specification,review,stills & price details

2010 Toyota Prius review
Toyota decided to introduce the upgraded 2010 version of their hybrid-electric vehicle,2010 Toyota Prius by next year. The 2010 model is Toyota's third-generation Prius, a redesigned version of earlier one.

The newely added features include a moonroof with solar panels, four driving modes, Intelligent Parking Assist (IPA), and steering wheel touch controls. A multi-information display panel that monitors fuel and energy consumption is also standard.

The new Prius features a more aerodynamic shape, larger 1.8 liter petrol engine with optional roof-mounted solar panels and intelligent park assist. The aerodynamic design of the new 2010 Prius was an important factor. The goal was to create a wedge shape with steeply raked windscreen and square rear end corners to reduce aerodynamic drag.

A larger and more powerful 1.8-liter Atkinson-cycle, four-cylinder engine powers the car providing more power and torque that helps the new engine runs at a lower average rpm on the highways. The introduction of large engine actually helps improve highway mileage.

The New 2010 Toyota Prius uses an electric water pump that increases engine’s efficiency by removing auxiliary loads from the engine’s crankshaft. The remote air-conditioning system is the first system in the world to function on battery-power.

This gas/electric hybrid car is a five-passenger, 4-door hatchback that teams a 4-cylinder engine with a battery-powered electric motor for 110 hp. Toyota's hybrid system allows Prius to run on one or both of its power sources to balance acceleration and fuel economy. No plug-in charging is required.

The new Prius comes in 3 alternative driving modes.
  • EV-Drive Mode : Allows driving on battery power alone at low speeds .
  • Power Mode : Increases sensitivity to throttle input for a sportier feel.
  • Eco Mode: Helps the driver achieve the best possible mileage.
2010 Toyota Prius base price: $22,000(expected)
